Questions
It depends on your assets, your family, and your goals. A will is the foundation of most plans. A revocable living trust can help avoid probate and is often recommended for homeowners and families who want more privacy and control. We’ll recommend what fits after a short conversation.
Florida’s intestacy laws decide who inherits, in a set order that may not match your wishes, and a court appoints someone to administer your estate. You also lose the ability to name a guardian for minor children.
Most plans include a will or revocable trust, a durable power of attorney, a designation of health care surrogate, a living will, and a HIPAA authorization. Homeowners may also benefit from a Lady Bird deed or a deed into a trust.
After marriage, divorce, the birth or adoption of a child, a move to Florida, buying or selling real estate, starting a business, or the death of someone named in your plan — and generally every few years.
A will validly signed in another state is generally recognized in Florida, but other documents, such as powers of attorney, and Florida’s homestead rules can create issues. An existing estate plan review ($395) will tell you what needs updating.

Published flat fees apply to standard Florida estate-planning matters. Government recording charges are separate. This page is general information, not legal advice.
